MindBlogging revamped...

So if you've been wondering where I've been these past 3 days without posting or anything, by now, you must've gotten your answer. Templates are a pain (atleast for me) to change... but yet on some level I enjoy doing it too. And the need arose when I saw a sudden escalation of the number of blogs out there touting the same template as I had been for the past few months... sure, they didn't have my fancy header.. but of course the similarities were very obvious. And so I decided it was time for a change. And voilĂ ... Do drop me a line if you think this change is for the better or for the worse. I appreciate all the feedback from all of you... and I must thank Priya for her role in my HTML lessons.

And I promise to post other stuff soon... Au revoir!

Love the new look.. The header is especially classy. The whole blog has this warm feel maybe because of the browns and the Polaroid shots adds that lovely personal touch also. Classic stuff. Great work, Ms Holmes.

The new look is great Jaya! The header steals the show and like I mentioned before, the ragged edges in this template give it a warm & cozy feel.

Krish n Priya -> Thanks a ton! Wasn't sure if including our own snaps was a good idea.. but went on ahead with it anyways. Glad that you think it looks nice too :). Keep visiting!

Looks like serious business... you and the blog. the more time someone spends maintaining it, I feel the more they care about it. And to what a great deal you care is exhibited from the work you've out into it. Looks great by the way. Perhaps you have another career beckoning. Godspeed.

In the ColdStone range of 'Like It', 'Love It' and 'Gotta have it', your blog is a 'Gotta have it'. It oozes originality and appeal and something about this colors and tones is dead-on. I am a regular here though I haven't commented much. but now I just had to say how I love the header. fab work!

Cozycat -> Thanks... well, change of career n all I donno... but yes, I am a serious blogger. Keep visiting!

Vidhya, Sang -> Thank you girlz... Appreciate the supporting comments. And since u r regulars, I don't think the vintage "Keep visiting" is in order :P

Very nice!! It would be great if you could change the links attached to each picture on the page header. So, if you click on Sights, it will lead you to your travel section, passion to articles on your passions like cooking or photography, etc.

Hmm... seems tougher to copy from! ;) Maybe I need to meet this priya person ;)

Priya said...

@ Ram: I am the 'Priya person' :D I think I might have to come up with a rate plan for creating templates - and not just any template, but versions of what Jaya uses only, interested ? ;)

Jaya said...

Bala -> Thanks for the compliments, though of course Priya deserves a fair measure.. And yes, she said she's gonna charge you :P. And adding a link on the header is tricky besides the point that people will probably not think of looking for links on the header. So it might be too much trouble trying to do something that may not have as much eventual effect.

Priya -> Good one :)

Very creative Ms J. Looks stupendously good. Keep up the good work :)

Gandalf -> Thank you. Keep visiting.

Jay...It looks extremely cool , neat and so classy. I can tell that a lot of thought an effort has gone into this and it shows :). Visiting your blog now feels like a short trip to Europe!!! Keep Blogging.....

Jaya said...

Sandy -> Thanks dee.. :D
Aravind -> Hehe, thanks...

People, I am all glowing from the compliments. thanks a ton and keep visiting and needless to say, commenting. :)

A-MAZING. It's freaking awesome. I bet you're going to have a sudden spate of extra visitors and followers. With a blog as a beautiful as this and content as good as yours, all credit to you. Keep up the blogging!

sux.. when I click on passions, memories, places thumbnails at top right corner, I expected to go to your photoblog... what a let down your webpage design is!!

:) now that the constructive criticism is out of the way, I offer a useless compliment - the template is great!

Jaya said...

CreativeMinds -> Thanks for all the compliments. And please keep visiting.

Seshadri -> I think you should read my reply to my brother, Ram's comment above. I don't think too many people are going to click on those fotos and expect it to go anyplace. And it's way too complicated to add links on the header image, for my HTML knowledge base anyways. And that didn't sound like constructive criticism at all. In fact it sound like you wanted to push me off Cloud 9. :P Didn't work. Thanks for the trial to end on a sweet note though..

oh.. apologies! It was meant to be supportive, and meant to log my name in the comments section.. one of ur regular readers. anyways.. will keep it in mind when I post comments in the future.. (if I have any at all) :)

Anonymous said...

and.. if I knew it could go this wrong, wouldn't have taken the trouble to be so creative :)

Jaya said...

Seshadri-> Creative with this comment?? I thought your comment on Vidu's blog was funny though.. Anyhow, didn't mean to "semi-offend" you either... Keep visiting!

:).. yeah! naivete being my middle name, I chose to leave such a comment! I was considering deleting it after this... but then we have clarified our stands.. so I won't!

Good luck...

Jaya said...

Ramya -> Thank u n keep visiting. And thanks for being a follower!

Saumya said...

I agree with Bala, if you could go to the specific links by clicking on each picture, which u can update as you add more places u see or interests u develop..that would be awesome..esp since u seem to have a long list of regulars..:)..trust me they will go to the links..:)..

other than that..it looks awesome..but i guess u already knew that..

Saulya -> That's a long drawn complicated HTML experiment which I haven't embarked on... And I doubt I will for the moment. Maybe if I am ever stuck with a lot of time on my hands, I'll try to take that giant leap forward. Thanks for the comment and for visiting!

I have been reading your blog since your time at Cincinnati. New theme looks good. I see that you promptly added all copyright statements and watermarked the photos. The new shutterbug app is not helping your intentions though. Clicking the app leads straight to your Picassa gallery and all the full sized photos with no watermarks.

Jaya said...

Anon -> Thank you for your concern. I have temporarily discontinued the Slideshow and will probably put it up once I have the watermarks in place. But I believe that crooks can be crooks and people can find a way if they want to. But I guess I can make it hard for them. Lol. Thanks n keep visiting!
