India Shining

It seems to be a good period for India in a couple of unrelated fields at least. India blasted off her first space mission to the moon. Read all about the ISRO's accomplishments here - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7679818.stm . This is a milestone (or moon stone, if you will) on any grand scheme of things and this mission is being monitored all over the world. Go India!

And on an unrelated, yet very Indian topic, the Indian cricket team thrashed the Aussies in the second test at Mohali for their most convincing test victory against the 'unassailables'. Read all about that here - http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/indvaus2008/content/story/374802.html . And add to that Sachin tendulkar now holds the record for having made the most test runs ever and for being the first batsman to cross the 12,000 run mark ever. Want more stats? Read here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sachin_Tendulkar

India - Rock on!

The mission to moon is pretty preliminary considering the fact that PSLV was developed way back in 90's. The probe is also a stationary one which is going to gather information only during its freefall. The mission should have been accomplished in 2005 itself but has been pushed way back because of bureaucratic attitude of senior scientists... Anyways should congratulate ISRO for its first step

Balaji -> I guess you are being real. I was just loking at the positive side of things. No matter how many steps you take towards the goal, reaching it is an entirely different thing... for of course there've been missions that've been abandoned n such. Which is why the mission to the moon is a big deal. Oh and also that India is just the 5th country to do it. So definitely it's huge. Thanks for your point of view n keep visiting.

Oh. It was not being real. I was just trying to put into words what i have seen when i worked there for two years. I was also involved in the vibration testing of few of the critical parts for the chandrayaan mission. It was done way back in 2005....its been almost three years and thats what hurts the most.

Balaji -> That's great that u were involved. But all of us are aware that India needs to put back her bureaucratic politics for true development. it will happen eventually when we youngsters take over. Keep heart!
